Almost all of my working life has entailed working in the medical field for almost 30 years as the practice manager for Dr Richard Keyes and Dr Michael Hickey. During that time Dr Keyes became involved in the cosmetic medicine field. We established a small base in the surgery for treatment of acne using a combination of topical creams, antibiotics & microdermabrasion. That success led to extending microdermabrasion treatment to other patients. Richard continued with developing his cosmetic practice while continuing his general practice. We were able to see that there was a need to establish a Cosmetic Center based on the observation of the improvement of peoples health with the improvement of their skin health and perception of themselves. This led to the establishment of Skinworx.
Being an Aesthetician has always been my dream job. It's what I have always wanted to do since I was 15. At 21 years of age, I travelled from Woodstock to Sydney to study Beauty Therapy. I was fortunate to train at Madame Korner's Salon, at the Hilton Hotel under the guidance of European trained Aestheticians. Madame Korner was very famous in the industry and we did treat many celebrities. I remained there for over 15 years before returning home. I have loved being a part of the evolvement of the industry. Keeping abreast of new technologies has allowed me to challenge myself and enabled me to maximise client outcomes. I am one of the foundation members of Skinworx since 2004. I can honestly say I love coming to work every day being a therapist and friend to so many clients.
